Title: Tales from (some of) the Chem Ed interventions in the school
Abstract:
Since 2019, three new education-focused members of staff (Drs Stephen George-Williams, Reyne Pullen and Shane Wilkinson) have been hired in the School of Chemistry and supported by the CECR (Chemistry Education and Communication Research) theme. Come along and hear their most recent work. A short overview of a range of projects will be discussed before a deeper dive into three individual topics:
- online/paper based exams,
- technique-based laboratory simulations and
- authentic laboratory assessments.
We will focus particularly on educational research data and the impact of these interventions on the student learning experience.
