Title: Inclusion of the Blind in Chemistry: Challenges to Access

Abstract: This presentation invites attendees on Dr Cary Supalo’s journey as a blind chemist, where he encountered challenges to access, and pioneered way to overcome these barriers. It is this emancipatory experience of doing chemistry in a hands-on independent manner that can inspire blind and low vision learners to pursue STEM as a field of study. There will also be discussion of further innovations in progress that may revolutionise science access for the blind.
